These terms apply when you order a wedding website from PersonalWeddingWebsite.com. Please read them before you buy. By placing an order you agree to them.
1. About us
PersonalWeddingWebsite.com (“we”, “us”) designs and hosts personal wedding websites. You can reach us through our contact page.
2. Your order
Your order is made up of the Essential Site and any features you add when you build your package. Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include any taxes that apply.
A contract is formed when your payment is successful and we send you an order confirmation by email.
Payment is taken in full when you order, through Stripe. Features added later are paid for by invoice or through your couple admin panel and become active once paid.
3. What you get
The Essential Site includes your wedding details, order of the day, venue map and directions, a countdown, a mobile-friendly design, your own web address and one year of hosting.
Extra features (for example RSVPs, guest photo and video upload, a guestbook, password protection, a QR code, a gift list or the couple admin panel) are included only if you buy them.
With the couple admin panel you can view and manage RSVP replies there. Without it, each RSVP reply is emailed to you instead.
Your web address (ending .co.uk, .uk, .com or .net) is registered by us on your behalf for the length of your hosting. It is linked to your wedding website and is not transferable while we host it. Please check the spelling before you pay, as it can’t be changed afterwards.
4. Building your site
After payment, we need your wedding details. If you have the couple admin panel you can add them yourself; otherwise you send them to us using the details form.
Once you have paid and sent us your details, your site will normally be ready to view within 24 hours, but please allow up to five working days.
If you have the couple admin panel you can change your site whenever you like. Without it, your details are set once the form is submitted and later changes made by us cost £10 per change.
You are responsible for keeping your guest password and couple admin password safe. We send them to you by email when your site goes live.
5. Your content
You are responsible for the text, photos and other content you add or send us, and for having permission to use it. You keep ownership of your content and give us permission to host and display it on your website.
You must not use your website for anything unlawful, offensive or that infringes someone else’s rights. We may remove content or suspend a site that breaks this rule.
You are responsible for what is shared on your site by your guests, including photos, videos and guestbook messages. You can close uploads or the guestbook at any time, and ask us to remove anything.
Fair-use limits apply to keep sites fast and free of spam. Guest photos can be up to 25MB and videos up to 200MB each, and there are limits on how many messages, RSVPs and uploads can be sent in a short time.
6. Guests and privacy
You decide what your guests are asked for and who can see your site. If you collect guest information, such as RSVPs, email addresses or dietary needs, you should only use it to plan your wedding and keep guests updated about it.
Wedding websites are hidden from search engines, but anyone with the address can visit unless you add password protection. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
7. Updates to our service
We are always improving PersonalWeddingWebsite.com. During the life of your site we may add new features and options, change the design, layout or wording of pages and of your couple admin panel, and update the technology your site runs on. Some changes appear on your site automatically.
We may also make changes to your site to keep it secure, working properly and compatible with current browsers and devices.
We will not remove a feature you have paid for without telling you. If a change means you would lose something important that you paid for, we will offer a suitable alternative or a fair refund for the part you can no longer use.
8. Hosting period
Your site stays online for the hosting period you bought, starting from the date your site goes live. You can add extra years at any time before it ends.
We will email you a week before your hosting ends. After it ends, your site, its content and guest uploads are deleted, so please download anything you want to keep.
9. Cancellations and refunds
Because your website is made to your personal details, you can cancel within 14 days of ordering only if we have not yet started building it. If you cancel in that time we will refund you in full.
Once we have started building your site, or once you have started adding your own details in the couple admin panel, you agree that the right to cancel no longer applies. Please contact us if something is not right and we will do our best to help.
This does not affect your legal rights if the service is not provided with reasonable care and skill.
10. Availability and maintenance
We aim to keep every site available at all times. From time to time we need to put PersonalWeddingWebsite.com, and sometimes wedding websites, into maintenance mode for a short time so we can make updates and improvements.
While maintenance mode is on, visitors see a short holding message and may not be able to order, send messages, RSVP, upload photos or sign the guestbook. Anything already saved is kept safe, and payments already in progress still complete.
We keep maintenance as short as we can and plan it for quieter times where possible. For planned maintenance we will try to give notice on the site beforehand. There may also be short interruptions for reasons outside our control.
We are not responsible for problems caused by your internet connection, device or third-party services such as payment, email or calendar providers.
11. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for your order. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses. We recommend you keep your own copies of important photos and messages.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add new features. The version that applies to your order is the one shown when you placed it. If we make an important change that affects a site you already have, we will let you know.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
